Sonny Gray delivered 8 solid innings at The Lion's Den where the Lake County Nighthawks beat the Mohawk Valley Lions by the score of 4 to 1.
Lake County scored 2 runs in the 5th inning with the help of 3 hits. It was enough to earn the victory. Wade Davis pitched a perfect ninth to earn his 1st save.

Adrian Beltre had 3 base hits at The Lion's Den where the Lake County Nighthawks beat the Mohawk Valley Lions in 11 innings 7 to 6.
The score was knotted at 6 after nine innings. Lake County came out the victor in the 11th inning. Curtis Granderson reached on an error. After an out was recorded, Beltre came to bat and ripped a base-hit scoring the run. Mohawk Valley had 15 hits in the game while Lake County had 12, but Lake County had the more timely hits.
J.J. Hoover (1-0) went 2/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the victory. Wade Davis recorded the save, his 2nd. David Price (1-2) suffered the loss in relief. He was pinned with the loss despite not allowing an earned run in his 1 inning of work.
Game Three
Lions 4, Nighthawks 2
Starters: Garrett Richards @ Noah Syndergaard
In a tight game it was the Mohawk Valley Lions 4, the Lake County Nighthawks 2 at Lake County Park.
Mohawk Valley scored 3 runs in the 7th inning when they came up with 4 base hits. The biggest moment was provided by Darin Ruf who deflated the spirits of the home town crowd when he launched a three-run homer. Dellin Betances was perfect in relief and gained credit for his 4th save.
Garrett Richards (2-0) was the winner allowing 1 run in 6 innings. Noah Syndergaard (0-1) was the losing pitcher. He surrendered 5 hits and 1 walk in 6 innings.
Game Four
Nighthawks 7, Lions 4
Starters: David Price @ Mark Buehrle
In a game at Lake County Park the Lake County Nighthawks got by the Mohawk Valley Lions by the score of 7 to 4.
Lake County had 3 runs cross the plate in the 7th inning with the help of 3 hits. It was enough to earn the victory. Lake County rapped out 8 hits for the night.
The win was credited to Mark Buehrle (1-0) who went 7 1/3 innings allowing 4 runs. Wade Davis earned his 3rd save. David Price (1-3) was the losing pitcher. He surrendered 5 runs and 4 hits in 6 innings.

Miguel Rojas had 2 base hits and 3 RBI at Lake County Park as the Lake County Nighthawks beat the Mohawk Valley Lions 9 to 6.
Sonny Gray (2-0) had a solid outing for Lake County. He allowed 3 hits and 4 walks in 5 2/3 innings. Lake County ended up with 13 hits for the game while Mohawk Valley had 9.
Wade Davis was credited with his 4th save. Stephen Strasburg (0-2) was charged with the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 8 hits and 3 walks in 4 2/3 innings.
