Elysian Fields Wins 2018 World Series

Here are the Strat game recaps from the 2018 World Series, in which the No. 1 Elysian Fields Dutchmen defeated the No. 2 Mohawk Valley Lions four games to none.

Game One
Dutchmen 5, Lions 4

Zack Greinke @ Max Scherzer

Max Scherzer retired 10 batters on strikeouts at Elysian Fields as the Elysian Fields Flying Dutchmen beat the Mohawk Valley Lions by the count of 5 to 4.

Scherzer (3-2) delivered a fine performance for Elysian Fields. He went 7 innings allowing 6 hits and 3 walks. Mohawk Valley made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

Scherzer got help from Roberto Osuna who earned his 3rd save. The loss was charged to Andrew Miller (0-1) in relief.

Game Two
Dutchmen 6, Lions 3
Stephen Strasburg @ Chris Sale

Brian Dozier cracked a homer and Chris Sale racked up an impressive total of 10 strikeouts at Elysian Fields as the Elysian Fields Flying Dutchmen beat the Mohawk Valley Lions 6 to 3.

Sale (4-0) delivered a fine performance for Elysian Fields. He surrendered 5 hits and 4 walks in 7 innings. For the game Elysian Fields out-hit Mohawk Valley 8 to 5.

Roberto Osuna recorded the save, his 4th. Stephen Strasburg (0-3) was given the loss.

Game Three
Dutchmen 4, Lions 1
Robbie Ray @ Justin Verlander

Giancarlo Stanton ripped 2 home runs and had 3 RBI as the Elysian Fields Flying Dutchmen outscored the Mohawk Valley Lions 4 to 1.

Stanton enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He ripped a solo home run in the 6th inning and cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 8th inning. Elysian Fields had 6 hits for the night while Mohawk Valley had 2.

Addison Reed (1-0) allowed no runs in 1.1 innings, and picked up the victory. Wade Davis preserved the game for Reed, recording his his 1st save. Justin Verlander (1-2) took the loss.

Game Four
Dutchmen 1, Lions 0 

Zack Greinke @ Max Scherzer

Max Scherzer had an impressive outing as the Elysian Fields Flying Dutchmen defeated the Mohawk Valley Lions 1 to 0 at The Lion's Den.

Elysian Fields jumped out to the early lead in the first inning scoring one run via a home run from Giancarlo Stanton. That early scoring was all that Scherzer (4-2) needed. Mohawk Valley made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

Scherzer got help from Alex Claudio who earned his 1st save. Zack Greinke (2-2) was the losing pitcher. He pitched 7 innings giving up only 4 hits and 1 walk.
