Gators first baseman Chris Davis led the MMDA with 64 home runs, 418 total bases, a .677 slugging percentage and 200 strikeouts to win the MVP award. He ranked second with 145 RBIs and 120 runs scored.

The top two offenses in the league each had two players garner enough MVP votes to finish top five in the balloting. The Dodgers' Mike Trout (league-leading 138 runs, 198 hits, 135 walks, .467 OBP) and Miguel Cabrera (.343 average, 152 RBIs) finished second and third, while the Huskies' Robinson Cano and Evan Longoria rounded out the top five.

Lefthander Cliff Lee won the Cy Young award, giving the 91-win Gators a clean sweep of the two big individual player awards. Lee led the MMDA with 20 wins, ranked second with 1.4 walks per nine innings and third with a 5.86 SO/BB ratio. Lee also received the third-best offensive support in the league with 5.37 runs per game.

Crows lefty Clayton Kershaw might have had a more-balanced statistical case to win the Cy Young, seeing that he led the MMDA with 256 innings and finished second with 19 wins and a 2.46 ERA and third with 240 strikeouts and a .212 opponent average.
