First baseman Allen Craig hit a homerun at Huskie Park where the Northeast Huskies beat the Rochester Pilots 6 to 1.
Adam Wainwright (1-0) earned his pay with a solid performance for Northeast. He was reached for 9 hits and no walks in 7 and 2/3 innings. Northeast banged out 8 hits on the night.
John Lackey (0-1) absorbed the loss. He served up 3 gopher balls in 5 and 1/3 innings.

Shortstop J.J. Hardy had 2 base hits and 3 RBI as the Rochester Pilots topped the Northeast Huskies by a score of 9 to 6 at Huskie Park.
Rochester scored 6 runs in the decisive top of the 5th inning when they had 4 base hits. The critical plate appearance was by Miguel Montero who disappointed the partisan crowd when he smashed a two-run homer. Tyler Clippard was perfect in relief and got the save, his 1st.
Matt Harvey (1-0) picked up the victory, allowing 6 runs in 7 innings. James Shields (0-1) took the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 9 hits and 4 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings.

Kris Medlen (1-0) gave Northeast a solid outing. He went 5 innings surrendering 4 hits and 2 walks. Rochester was retired without difficulty in the 9th.
Medlen was helped out by Casey Janssen who recorded his 1st save. Matt Harvey(1-1) was given the loss. Although losing the contest, he whiffed 13 batters in 8 innings.

Center fielder Shane Victorino had 3 base hits as the Northeast Huskies defeated the Rochester Pilots 5 to 3 at Huskie Park.
Northeast promptly took the lead in their half of the first when they came up with 2 runs on 1 hit. Although they lost, Rochester did out-hit Northeast 10 to 7.
The victory was credited to Adam Wainwright (2-0) who went 6 and 2/3 innings, allowing no runs. Wainwright was helped out by Bobby Parnell who recorded his 1st save. Jon Lester (0-1) was the losing pitcher.
